Tilt Meter

Tilt your phone, watch pitch and roll follow.

Uses your phone's motion sensor. Some phones ask first, and nothing is recorded.

About

Tap Start and tilt your phone. Pitch (top to bottom) and roll (side to side) update live, a bubble level floats to the high side and turns green within half a degree of flat, and a little phone on screen copies yours. Lay it on a shelf or frame to check it's level.

Why does it need a tap to start?
iPhones only hand motion data to a page after you tap something and allow it. Other phones don't ask, but the same button keeps things simple.
What does Zero here do?
It takes the current angle as the new flat, so you can measure relative to a surface that isn't level, or cancel out a bumpy phone case. Clear zero goes back to true level. It isn't saved.
How accurate is it?
As accurate as your phone's sensor, usually within a degree or so. Cases, camera bumps and a loose grip matter more than the maths. Use Zero here on a known-flat surface to cancel them out.
Why doesn't it work on my laptop?
Laptops and desktops have no tilt sensor. The page shows a QR code to open it on your phone instead.
Is my motion data sent anywhere?
No. The readings are handled in your browser and are not recorded or sent anywhere.
